Announcement of 2014 President Chao Nee Memorial Scholarship Recipients

The NCKUAANA President Chao Nee Memorial Scholarship Committee has completed its evaluation of 2014 scholarship applicants.  Listed below are the selected recipients, whose outstanding accomplishments rendered them all exceptionally competitive candidates.



Victoria Huang (黃微雅) – a Junior at Johns Hopkins University, majoring in Public Health Studies and Biology.  She is the daughter of Li Wang (王麗, 1985 Industry Management Science), member of NCKUAANA – Washington D.C.


Jenny Shih (施亞婷) – a Harvard University Junior, with a major in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology and minor in Global Health and Health Policy.  Daughter of Frank Shih (施永強, 1980 Electrical Engineering), member of NCKUAANA – Greater NY.


Irving Hsu (許智揚)- a Stanford University Sophomore, with a major in Computer Science, and minor in Management Science and Engineering.  Son of Pochang Hsu (許伯彰, 1984 Engineering Science),member of NCKUAANA – Northern CA.


Kevin Chiang (江瑋倫) – a Sophomore at University of Maryland, College Park, major in Physiology & Neuobiology and Mathmatics.  He is the son of Kwofu (Vincent) Chiang (江國富, 1986 Engineering Science), member of NCKUAANA – Washington D.C



The President Chao Nee Memorial Scholarship Committee is delighted to announce that Ms. Morgan Chang is the recipient of the Committee Special Scholarship. 


Morgan Chang (張秀文) - a senior at the University of Oklahoma, majoring in Health and Exercise Science – Pre-Dental Hygiene.  Daughter of Dong Ping Chang (張東平, 1976 Mathematics),  member of NCKUAANA – NTX


At the young age of twelve, Ms. Chang’s mother passed away.  She faced obstacles and challenges serving as the motherly figure to her siblings.  Her father, as a single parent of five children, struggled with his health, from a stroke to diabetes, and cardiac complications.  Ms. Chang overcame many difficulties while retaining her positive attitude toward life.


The decision to award this Special Scholarship is a demonstration of the warm support and well wishes from the NCKU alumni family and the Scholarship Committee members to Ms. Chang in the encouragement of her pursuit of her dreams.
